Powerless

And here I am

Left alone again

Not by choice but by prejudice

Tainted in the false image

Marked by stubborn stains

But this weight is too heavy

And I am drowning now, unable to catch my breath

I have tried, I have given my best

I have realized now, to be a Phoenix is not easy

The chains are too tight and too strong

They may never come off

I”ll just have to keep my head high enough to keep the lungs filled with air

And let it all go with the tears
