I thank Ashish kumar for nominating me for this challenge. He is a brilliant creator. Do check out his blog full of bomb diggity. 😉

Rules:

* Mention the person who tagged you.
* Answer the questions in full.
* Don’t forget to tag up to ten other bloggers at the end.

Q/A:

How did you get into blogging?

In my group, I was always asked to write greeting cards, wishes, posts, introductions, etc. Basically, everything related to writing.

They would always compliment me and say that one day, they would love to read a book by me. It got me thinking and I thought, I have not got what it takes to write a full book. At least not yet. So, I started this blog to learn and practice my writing & work on my skills. And that is how. 😉

What advice would you give to a blogger just starting out?

I am still kind of a new bee to be passing out any wisdom related stuff. But one thing I would sure say is…just be yourself, have your own style and read lots of books. 😀

What would be your dream campaign?

It sure would be to remove everything that put humans in a category. Be it class, caste, region, race or religion. And promote one love and equality. 😀

Do you have a plan for your blog?

Basically, to take a lot from the fellow bloggers and become capable enough to give something back. 🙂

What do you think about rankings?

I don’t believe in this system at all. We are all unique. And we are all able to connect at least some people of this world. And that is for sure. So, even if it’s just one person who could take something out of your blog…your purpose is fulfilled. 😀

Recently, I have been watching a lot of Korean dramas, Korean movies, listening to K-pop, trying to learn Korean. 😛 I am addicted or say obsessed with everything Korean or say Lee Min Ho. {I hope you are not hearing this name for the first time. If yes, then girls just run and check him out. You will thank me for life. ;D}

So, I decided to share some Korean drama quotes with you. Hope you will love them as much as I do. 😀

“LOVE DOES NOT ASK YOU TO DISCARD YOUR PRIDE, IT’S ABOUT PROTECTING A PERSON. DON’T DO THIS IN THE FUTURE. DON’T BELIEVE PEOPLE SO EASILY. DON’T FALL IN LOVE SO EASILY. DON’T FORGIVE EASY EITHER, PLEASE BECOME STRONGER.” – PERSONAL TASTE

Freestyle writing challenge

wafflemethis nominated for the Freestyle Writing challenge in which you just have to write freely for a set time on a subject you are given by your nominator. 😀 This gentleman is an amazing blogger and puts me up for some new n interesting challenges every now and then, which I love taking upon. You should definitely check out his blog. 😉

I have been facing a problem with my laptop from a while. The keys l, o, p, 9, (, ‘ and . are not working. 😦 So, I have been using the On-screen keyboard to add the missing letters and punctuation to my posts or sometimes I type it on my phone, copy-paste the text in the drafts of my WP app and edit or add other text from the laptop.

Whoosh! I know tiring but necessary too. No one likes an attack from the grammar nazis :p.

So because of the circumstances, I typed this one on my phone where I got the added advantage of auto-correct and speed. 😉 [Yes, years of chat training on phone. 😉 Finally, I put my skills to good use. ;)] Hope y’all enjoy it. 😀

The rules:
1. Open a blank document.
2. Set a stop watch timer to 5 or 10 minutes, whichever length you prefer.
3. Your topic is at the foot of this post BUT DO NOT SCROLL DOWN TO SEE IT UNTIL YOU ARE READY WITH YOUR TIMER!!!
4. Once you start writing do not stop until the alarm sounds! Do not cheat by going back and correcting spelling and grammar using spell check (it is only meant for you to reflect on your own control of sensible thought flow and for you to reflect on your ability to write with correct spelling and grammar.)
5. You may or may not pay attention to punctuation or capitals
6. At the end of your post write down the number of words to give an idea of how much you can write within the time Frame.
7. Put the whole document onto your post and nominate 5 others and give them a new topic. Remember to copy paste the rules!

The subject given to me by wafflemethis is “If I had a flying carpet.

The first thing that comes to my mind, if I had a flying carpet, is I would be best friends with my childhood crush, Aladdin. (or may be more :p but he loved Jasmine too much 😦 )

Wow! Wouldn’t that be great? I would no longer have to save up for the public transports or won’t have to look for people to travel with me ( I don’t like to travel alone, much). I would just be able to call up my flying carpet, whom I would name ‘My shooting star’ by the way because I just love shooting stars :p, and would pack up my bag and leave. Leave! And leave where? I have a God damn flying carpet with me, I can freaking go anywhere I want!

I would fly away to New York city first and would meet Brandon Stanton

Then, I will leave for Ireland. My second dream destination. 😀 I will stay there for months till I have explored each and every corner of it which is just full of beauty and decorated by magical nature.

Later I will leave for some beautiful beach. Any beach actually because I have never been to a beach.

But if I have a flying carpet now, does it mean I will never be able to travel via a train or a plane ever? May be I will give ‘My shooting star’ a rest for a single visit. But one thing is sure, I will quench my wanderlust. 😀

Your first post challenge

ABYSSBRAIN and Its jerrod, these two gentlemen who run very interesting, knowledgeable and wonderful blogs, both challenged me for this new challenge created by Asil Acasio.

Asil, how come you took pity on our innocent souls and created an easy but may be embarrassing (for some including me :p) challenge for us, this time? :p

Now, first posts can be many things. They may seem amazing, extremely interesting and perfect to you but may be stupid, amateur and incomprehensible to some (like in my case :p). Or sometimes they are actually pretty amazing, extremely interesting and perfect. Some do a lot of work on it, some are natural and are awesomely talented to do it but some like me may post their very first immature attempt at writing poetry which does not even make any sense. :p

But we all learn and improve with time, right? 😉

Let’s get on with this!

Instructions:

  • Copy-paste, link, pingback or whatever way you want to, your first post.
  • State what type of post that was. E.G. Introduction, Story, Poem
  • Explain why that was your first post.
  • Nominate 5 other bloggers. Five because I know the pain of opening a lot of tabs at once.

First post: COLORS – A slam poem.

Type:  A slam poem.

Reason: I read this beautiful Slammed series by Colleen Hoover of whom I am a huge fan. 😉 In the series the main character, Will Cooper, writes and teaches this amazing slam poetry. So, that inspired me to write this slam poem.

It was my very first attempt, I could not actually achieve what I wanted to say and thought of rewriting it but I don’t know it was my very first poem and I got really attached to it as it reminds me of all the feelings I went through while reading the book and decided to keep it unchanged.

Also, in the book, Will Cooper says, “It shouldn’t matter what anyone else thinks about
your words. When you’re on that stage-you share a piece of
your soul. You can’t assign points to that.”

“The points are not the point; the point is poetry.” ~Allan Wolf

So, I just went on with it. 🙂

Thank you notes :D

Hello, Lovers!

This post is all about a million thanks and big appreciations for your thoughtfulness of remembering and including me for the nominations of these prestigious awards and other challenges, which I treasure with all my heart . 😀
Y’all are too kind and nice.
Again, thank you all for your generosity. I am blessed to have met such an awesome community of bloggers, here.

Sometimes, I get nominated for the same award twice, thrice or more times. Or challenged to complete a task more than one time. I was thinking about what to do about it.
Was posting about the same thing again and again right? But it would not be fair to not to personally thank the person who thought of nominating you too. That would be rude, right?
So, I thought of forming this page, just for the thank you notes. 😀
I will still be doing all the awards and challenges because I love them. They get me all very excited and jumpy. 😉 I will just not be posting about the awards/challenges that I have already done but will do post a thank you note for the nominator. 🙂

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Allergic to E challenge

Redefining random started this very interesting and hard challenge of writing a lipogram, a few days back. I am pretty sure, he is a fan of constrained writing. 😉 The pros of starting a challenge? You never have to perform it and secretly enjoy others sweat. :p Do I need to say more?
Was this demonic brain child of her inspired by Gadsby, which is a 1939 novel by Ernest Vincent Wright? The whole novel is written as a lipogram and does not include words that contain the letter “e”. (I know, genius!)

After completing the novel, he wrote:

As I wrote along, in long-hand at first, a whole army of little E’s gathered around my desk, all eagerly expecting to be called upon. But gradually as they saw me writing on and on, without even noticing them, they grew uneasy; and, with excited whisperings amongst themselves, began hopping up and riding on my pen, looking down constantly for a chance to drop off into some word; for all the world like seabirds perched, watching for a passing fish! But when they saw that I had covered 138 pages of typewriter size paper, they slid onto the floor, walking sadly away, arm in arm; but shouting back: “You certainly must have a hodge-podge of a yarn there without *us*! Why, man! We are in every story ever written *hundreds of thousands of times! This is the first time we ever were shut out!

I am sure, I am going to feel the same way 😦

There’s also a book named “The Void” by Georges Perec that never uses “e”. It’s a murder mystery about the death of one “Anton Vowl”, and every time a witness or suspect gets to the point where he will *HAVE TO* use a word with an “e” in it…he dies, just before he says it. ( Sounds a fun read, right? 😉 )

I got nominated by this stupendous and fun blogger, wafflemethis, who dragged me down with him for this devilish task.
My first thought after reading the rules?:
Does Mr. Rich kind of hates me or something? What wrong did I do to him? I seriously checked all the comments and likes passed between us, for the clues but found nothing. 😦 I guess, I will just have to go with it and give it a try. As I have learnt, never to back down and then again who would like to be throned as the ‘page of lame’?
So, lets do this. 8D

RULES:

1) Write a whole paragraph without any word containing the letter “e”.
2) By reading this you are already signed up.
3) Challenge at least five bloggers to do the challenge. They must do it within 24 hours or it is considered as failure.
4) If you fail or pass, suffer in the Page of Lame.
5) If you win, wallow in the Page of Fame.
6) You can check your standings on my menu, Your Standings. 😉

The lipogram:

I should first warn you about this uncommon paragraph which may or may not form any implication or any signification. You may not fathom my aim or distinguish it, but just trust your instinct and try to intuit. At first, I thought of picking up a dictionary but finally stick out to no copying. So, I will now start. Wait! What was I writing until now? With following words, I will drag it a bit. It was an auspicious day. School was off, so no class. Girls and boys did laugh and play. All had fun. At lunch, I had a lot on my dish. It was full of good food. My stomach was growling. I had a glass full of milk to start with. Corns, chips, lamb, ham, duck, tomato, potato, salmon and onion salad; hotdog and bacon all consists of my lunch, daily. I got so full, I could hardly walk! So, I took a nap.

MY NOMINEES:

moxie luster

The ugly ducklings life

isaacs picture conclusions

a bit of wiggle room

cold chicken soup

The wayward whim

its jerrod

{Just remember, I dont hate you guys. Now, I had to pick some nominees right? And your names poped up. 😀 }

Hope I did good here ;p .
